Carpathian Trek
Our most popular trip!
Experience a taste of Slovakia from atop of its roof - the Carpathian Mountains.
An exceptionally varied landscape of this beautiful mountain range together with clever system of trails offers unrivalled hiking opportunities. Our trip will take you to several National Parks. Together we will dive into a kingdom of dense forest, narrow gorges and crystal-clear streams of Slovak Paradise;
climb the highest accessible peak in the rugged High Tatras; descend into a mysterious world of stunning caves; do a multi-day backpacking along the grassy ridges
of Low Tatras.
Keep your camera on hand, you don't want to miss
the rare mountain chamois likely to be seen in these places and of course, sunrise. Everybody who has ever sat on a mountaintop lit by the early morning sun probably knows...
The itinerary is packed with unforgettable hiking and the finest of nearby picturesque towns with timeless monuments, inviting restaurants and cafés where we enjoy delicious cuisine and some of the finest wines or beers.
In addition we visit the impressive Spiš castle, ruins of one of the largest castle complexes in Europe,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Moderate Plus - a combination of moderate and more vigorous hikes covering 6-12 miles (10-20 km) a day with elevation gain up to 3500 feet (1100 m). Every mountain range has different character: Low Tatras - exposed grassy massifs; High Tatras - Alpine style jagged peaks with few sections only passable holding onto chains fixed to the rock; Slovak Paradise - hidden gorges secured with ladders. There is something interesting for every keen hiker who is reasonably fit.
Weather:
Slovakia has moderate continental climate. Prime visiting months are May through September with temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to the lower 80s (14 - 28°C). October is cooler, usually bringing first frosts in the mountain heights but also the most spectacular autumnal colours and often a beautiful Indian summer.
